Gerasimos M. Mataragas
Architect BSc, MArch, RIBA, TEE
Gerasimos undertook his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in architecture at the University of Bath, from both of which he graduated with first class honours in 2019. Despite coming from a modernist school of thought, he has a keen interest in antiquity and classicism, and the ways they can inform a “critical regionalist” approach to contemporary design. During his studies he wrote a research paper on Filarete’s Treatise on Architecture investigating the theme of the ideal city during Renaissance, while his thesis project explored the re-use of historical elements in civic buildings through the process of translation. Gerasimos founded his practice in 2020 in Patras, Greece, specializing in the fields of architecture, interior design and urbanism. Since 2021 he is a member of the Environmental Committee of the Technical Chamber of Greece, Western Greece and an elected representative of the Greek Architects’ Association.
As of 2022, he is an RIBA Chartered Member.
